The Louisville Thruston Chapter celebrates National Flag Day each year by holding its Flag Day/Homecoming Luncheon Meeting. This year’s meeting will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Louisville Boat Club and will feature Ms. Joni Bryan, founder of the 1917 Society. Ms. Bryan will discuss the history of the 1917 Society and share the story of its rapid growth and exciting mission to educate our youth on the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. In addition, Mike King and Pat McMurchie will offer some historical background to some of the many flags in the chapter’s inventory.

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with the Louisville Chorus in a spirited afternoon of music, community, and patriotic pride. This FREE concert brings together beloved songs that honor our nation’s history, resilience, and hope for the future. Color guard event. Must muster at 2 pm.

July 3, 2026, Friday, Time TBD. . At the grave of Colonel Richard Clough Anderson (1750-1826). 9302 Seaton Springs Parkway (at Seaton Springs Parkway and Nottingham Parkway in Hurstbourne Estates). This is a full SAR color guard event with chapter flags, bugle, flag raising and SAR and American Friends of Lafayette benches and CAR plaque dedication. More information is coming.

The event will have a patriotic flag presentation by the Sons of the American Revolution including the posting of colors, reading of the Declarations, a concert and fireworks. More details to follow. Color guard event for the Continental and Blue Blazer Color Guard.
